Tree Planting on behalf of the Woodland trust
Following on from our success in achieving registration to the environmental management standard ISO14001:2004. We have sponsored a group of trees in Oakham as part of a scheme organised by the Woodland trust. This was to celebrate the achievement and help safeguard a local beauty spot from being developed into housing.

Several employees attended a tree planting event held one cold Saturday morning. Those most instrumental in achieving the Standard were asked if they would like to attend and help to plant the group of trees sponsored by Rutland Plastics.

Despite the cold and damp weather 36 trees were planted in the plot . Which, in years to come, will hopefully be part of a mature wooded landscape on the outskirts of Oakham, which all local residents will be able to walk round.
Rutland Plastics' Plot is part of the second phase of tree planting. The first phase, which was completed a number of years ago, is already becoming established. It is a pleasant place to walk, with a viewpoint at the top of the hill overlooking Oakham.

We at Rutland Plastics take our environmental responsibility very seriously. Following on from achieving the environmental management standard we have implemented various schemes to increase what we recycle and save energy.
This is a process of continuous improvement and we will continue to minimise our impact on the environment.
