INVESTMENT IN MORE NEW MACHINES
Following a successful year for Rutland Plastics, the company has invested in more new machinery. The new machines are for the company’s secondary operations, and for the production of electrofusion fittings in particular.
There has been considerable growth in this area of the company’s business so as part of Rutland Plastics’ ongoing programme of investment it was decided to purchase these new versatile machines.

The first new machine is a Microcut Challenger BNC 1840 CNC Lathe. This will be used mainly for the production of small and mid size electrofusion fittings, although it can also be used for other turned parts as required.

The second new machine is a Mazak VTC 300C-II vertical machining centre. This highly versatile machining centre has a large 2000mm x 760mm table and an automatic tool changer with storage for up to 30 tools. This will be used mainly in the production of large bore electrofusion couplers although it can also be used for other production and the manufacture of mould tools. Rutland Plastics already has two smaller Mazak VMCs that are used for both tool manufacture and production.
These latest purchases reflect Rutland Plastics’ commitment to continuing investment in the latest technology as part of providing world class service to our customers.
