MARS GOLD AWARD 2008

Rutland Plastics are pleased to announce that they have recently been presented with a ‘Gold Award 2008’ by Mars Drinks.  The award is given to suppliers providing excellent quality and delivery performance over the course of a year.

“We pride ourselves on the service we provide to all our customers, and to be recognised for this by a company as prestigious as Mars Drinks is a tremendous accolade.”  Stuart Johnston, Rutland Plastics’ General Manager added, “This award is a reflection of the hard work put in by all our employees in meeting our customers’ requirements and our focus on achieving outstanding quality of service.”

RETIREMENTS

May saw the retirement of two long serving employees of Rutland Plastics.

Phil Boden was the company’s longest serving employee having work for Rutland Plastics for 51 years.  He has seen many changes since starting with the company when leaving school at 14, and has made a valuable contribution to our mould shop operations during that time.  Phil’s service is something the company is extremely proud of, especially in this day and age, and it is an achievement that is unlikely to ever be equalled, or surpassed.

Robert Beechey, Rutland Plastics’ Product Development and Technical Manager, also retired last month.  Starting out as a toolmaking apprentice he spent several years in the toolroom before progressing through the company.  Rob was responsible for the development of electrofusion at Rutland Plastics during the 1980’s and that remained an area of his expertise until his retirement,.

Everyone at Rutland Plastics would like to take this opportunity to wish both Phil and Rob well in their retirement.
