ECONOMY RECOVERS AND GROWS STRONGER

As the economy recovers, Rutland Plastics has seen a dramatic growth in business. This came not only from existing customers but also through the addition of new customers. Some of our customers also moved mould tools to us from other moulders and, in some cases from overseas.

Some moulders are still experiencing problems but generally British manufacturing has had a good year.

WHAT ABOUT RUTLAND PLASTICS?

2016 has continued recent success for Rutland Plastics with revenue showing further increases over previous years.

It was also a busy year with orders being received for an unprecedented number of new mould tools, over £1 million this year alone at last count, from both new and existing customers. Over the last couple of years we have gained in excess of 30 new customers as companies have seen the benefit of working with Rutland Plastics. As mentioned above a number of customers, new and old, have moved their mould tools to us from other injection moulders.

2016 was so busy that the majority of weekends were worked in order to meet demand in spite of a recruitment drive at the beginning of the year. The final phase of the factory redevelopment was completed, a new warehouse on the vacant land alongside the existing production bays and conversion of the old warehouse to a new engineering department containing an expanded toolroom. Staff numbers have recently increased to 140, the highest ever.

Rutland Plastics has a broad customer base serving a wide range of industries. Our strong financial footing and excellent supplier relationships guarantee you reliable service both in terms of quality and delivery on time. Our experienced and highly qualified technical staff also help to ensure that Rutland Plastics always deliver on promise.

LOOKING AHEAD

The focus for 2017 is to continue this growth pattern and invest in more new moulding machines. We shall continue to exhibit at Manufacturing & Engineering North East, the Engineering Design Show and Interplas as in previous years

HOW CAN WE HELP?

In-house design and tooling – offering guidance and support both for existing and new products and components. Our own toolroom means that your existing tooling can be adapted and refurbished, if necessary, without delay.

Prototyping – we can manufacture prototypes for you that will closely resemble the finished product so that you can test your design before committing to production tooling.

Cost effective mould making – for new projects use of selected subcontract toolmakers both in the UK and overseas in addition to our own toolroom to ensure you get the best tool at the best price.

Latest moulding technology – Rutland Plastics has always had a rolling investment programme ensuring that we have modern, efficient moulding machines and ancillary equipment. Efficient production means consistent quality and cost effective manufacture for you.

Large moulding expertise – if you have large mouldings we can handle them (up to 38kgs), also with expertise in thick section moulding.

Gas injection moulding – Rutland Plastics also offers you gas assisted injection moulding should you require it.

Machining and assembly – many customers like to receive sub-assemblies or have parts that have tight tolerances and require post mould machining. RP can help here with our in-house finishing services including sonic welding.

Electrofusion – you may not require this service but it is a further illustration of our capabilities.

Complete control over quality – as an ISO9001:2000 registered company we have clear procedures in place for quality control tailored to your specific requirements.

Full traceability of components – our Manufacturing Management System enables us to track your order through from placement to despatch. In the unlikely event that you have a problem we can trace the batch of material, machine the part was moulded on and the operator.

On demand just-in-time supply – we are fully flexible in dealing with our customers’ ordering requirements. Whether you wish to place repeat orders, work to schedules, operate a Kanban system or call-off from stock we are happy to work with you.

Rutland Plastics operates an open house policy so why not arrange to visit us to see what we can do for you.
